Certifications
We are a merchant exporter. That means we export goods made by manufacturing partners we have worked with for years, so some documents are held by Arbhu and some are held by the factory. This page separates the two honestly, because a buyer who finds out later has every reason to stop trusting the rest of it. Looking for a specific document? Certifications we hold
These are held by Arbhu Enterprises. We do not print registration numbers or validity dates on this page. Ask us and we will send you the document itself, which is the only version worth checking anyway.
Importer-Exporter Code (IEC)
The Importer-Exporter Code (IEC) is issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It is the mandatory registration that allows a business to import into and export out of India, and it is quoted on the shipping and customs paperwork raised for every order we ship. Ours is IEC AAQCA9742C, held in the name of Arbhu Enterprises Private Limited, and it is publicly verifiable with the DGFT before you place an order.
FIEO Registration-cum-Membership Certificate
Issued by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations. Our RCMC records Arbhu Enterprises as a registered merchant exporter, which is exactly what we are: we export goods made by manufacturing partners rather than goods we press ourselves. Ask and we will send you the certificate.
FSSAI licence
Arbhu Enterprises holds a licence from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, the regulator that governs food businesses in India. Ask and we will send you the current licence so you can read the scope and the dates yourself.
SGS laboratory test report
In 2021 SGS tested our areca leaf tableware for arsenic and for microbiological limits, and the sample passed. We want to be precise about what this is: it is a test report on a specific sample from a specific date, not an ongoing certification, and we will not describe it as one. Ask and we will send you the report so you can read the actual scope and dates.
Manufactured in ISO 9001:2015 certified facilities
Our products are made in facilities certified to ISO 9001:2015. That certificate is held in the manufacturing facility’s name, not Arbhu’s. Arbhu did hold its own ISO 9001:2015 certificate as a merchandise exporter and that certificate expired in June 2024, so we are not claiming it as current. We will publish the renewal here when it is issued. Ask and we will send you the facility’s certificate.
Start-up India recognition
Arbhu Enterprises is recognised as a startup by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India, under the Start-up India initiative.

Certifications we arrange for your market
These are issued per order, for the destination you are importing into. You do not need to know which one applies to you. Tell us the destination country and what your customs broker or your buyer is asking for, and we arrange the document with the issuing body before the shipment leaves India.
Phytosanitary certificate
Issued per shipment by the plant quarantine authority. It verifies that a specific shipment of plants, plant products or other regulated items has been inspected and found free from pests and diseases that could harm the receiving country’s agriculture, environment or natural resources. Areca and sal leaf shipments commonly need one.
Certificate of Origin
Issued per shipment by an Indian chamber of commerce. It states where the goods were produced and lets your customs authority decide whether the shipment qualifies for preferential treatment, such as a reduced tariff, under a trade agreement between our two countries.
Pre-shipment inspection certificate (PQ)
Issued per shipment by an inspection agency once the pre-shipment inspection is complete. It confirms the goods were inspected and met the agreed quality standard. Some importing countries require it as part of customs clearance.
EN 13432
The European standard for packaging recoverable through composting. Where your market or your buyer requires it, we provide the manufacturer’s test certificate for the specific material you are ordering. Tell us the material and we will tell you what exists for it before you commit.
ASTM D6400
The North American compostability standard, the equivalent of EN 13432. Same arrangement: we provide the manufacturer’s certificate for the specific material you order.
BPI certification
Certification from the Biodegradable Products Institute, the mark North American composters and municipalities look for. Held by the manufacturer for a specific product, so we source it per material and per order.
LFGB
German food-contact safety testing under the Lebensmittel- und Futtermittelgesetzbuch. Frequently requested by German and wider EU buyers. We arrange the test report for the material you are ordering.
REX (Registered Exporter System)
The EU system that lets a registered exporter self-certify the origin of its goods. Arbhu is not REX registered, and we will not claim to be. REX numbers are checkable in the European Commission’s public REX database, and an origin claim that does not hold up becomes a duty bill and a penalty for you, the importer, not for us. Where you need proof of origin we supply a Certificate of Origin issued by an Indian chamber of commerce, which is what our EU buyers use today.
